I used to car pool with a friend who didn't believe in God but was fascinated that I did. Many of our conversations on the 40 min drive were about my faith. I recall one trip when he told me about a conversation with his son. 
Every night after dinner they would wash up the dishes together. My friend refused to buy a dish-washer because he valued those conversations so much. One night his son related what had happened that day at school during RE. The usual RE teacher was absent and a substitute had come in. She pushed the creationism doctrine hard and apparently not in a manner that convinced high-schoolers. The students were bemused so asked some questions, including: “so what happened to the dinosaurs?".
Her response was along the lines: "the dinosaurs were killed by God because they had sinned".
The sub RE teacher soon left and the class was left to themselves because the teacher hadn't remained for the RE class (which is against the rules but these things happen). The class broke into a discussion about what they had just heard. The conversations were unanimously critical and derogatory until one student spoke up in defence of Christianity (he just happened to be the lone Muslim in the class) who said "don't judge all Christians by what this woman said, I know that not all Christians are like that."
My friend's son then finished his tale by stating that Christians were dumb.
My friend didn't want his son to dismiss Christianity but rather that he would remain open, so he thought he would provided some balance by saying:
"I have a friend who is an Army Officer and an aviation engineer" (this was to provide some credibility, because his son wanted to become an aviation engineering Officer in the Army) "and this guy doesn't just think God is real, he knows God is real, and he just doesn't just think he's going to Heaven when he dies, he knows he'll be in Heaven when he dies. What would your life be like if you knew God was real, and that he loved you and that you will be going to Heaven?"
His son thought about it a while and then replied "Dad, that would be awesome".
